‘No Difference Of Opinion Between BJP, NCP’: Ajit Pawar’s Party Leader Clarifies Stand on NDA Ministerial Berths

The NCP leader in Maharashtra, Sunil Tatkare, clarified that there are no differences between the NCP and BJP regarding ministerial allocation in the NDA government. The NCP declined the offer to accommodate Praful Patel as a minister of state with independent charge, citing it as a demotion for him. Instead, they are exploring options to secure three Rajya Sabha seats to strengthen their central-level position. The NCP has two members in Parliament and is likely to increase its tally in the Rajya Sabha. NCP president Ajit Pawar supported the NDA and attended Prime Minister Modi’s swearing-in ceremony. The NCP lost the prestige battle in Baramati in the recent Lok Sabha polls. Supriya Sule, an NCP MP, expressed that she was not surprised by the NCP not getting a berth in the new cabinet and called for full loan waiver for farmers during the first cabinet meeting of the NDA.
