‘Mistake Was Made’: Tirumala Temple Board Holds ‘Purification Ritual’ In Kitchens Amid Tirupati Laddoo Row

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) held a ‘Mahashanti Yagam’ in response to the controversy surrounding the alleged use of animal fat in Tirupati laddoos. This ritual, called the ‘Mahashanti Yagam’, took place after Andhra Pradesh CM N Chandrababu Naidu ordered an SIT probe into the matter. The TTD acknowledged a mistake and organized the purification ritual to atone for it. The event aimed to rectify the error and maintain the sanctity of the temple. Panchagavya, or five sacred products, were used to purify the kitchen where the laddoos are made. The controversy has sparked demands for an investigation and action to protect the sanctity of Hindu temples.
