Mamata Banerjee, Who Led Singur Movement Against Tata Nano Plant, Mourns Ratan Tata’s Death



West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed sadness over the passing of renowned business tycoon Ratan Tata, calling it an irreparable loss for the Indian business world. Ratan Tata, who passed away at the age of 86 after a brief illness, had a significant impact on Indian industries and was known for his philanthropic efforts. Banerjee also reflected on her past involvement in a movement against Tata, which ultimately led to the relocation of the Nano car manufacturing unit from West Bengal to Gujarat. Ratan Tata, in a press briefing, cited the Singur movement led by Banerjee as the primary reason behind the decision to move the project.
