The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) announced that Yugendra Pawar, nephew of Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, will be contesting against his uncle in the upcoming assembly elections in Baramati. This move is seen as bold, as the constituency recently witnessed a family battle between MP Supriya Sule and Sunetra Pawar, Ajit Pawar’s wife. Yugendra, son of Ajit’s younger brother Shrinivas Pawar, was selected based on the demand of the people of Baramati. The NCP (SP) chief Jayant Patil expressed confidence in Yugendra’s ability to unite people and secure a different result this time. Other candidates in the NCP (SP) list include prominent leaders like Jayant Patil and Jitendra Awhad.
