The Jammu & Kashmir Election 2024 results are being counted for the 90 Assembly constituencies in the region. This is the first assembly election since it became a Union Territory five years ago. The main contenders are the Congress-National Conference alliance, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The voter turnout was 63.45%, slightly lower than in 2014. Exit polls suggest an advantage for the Congress-NC alliance, but the BJP is optimistic about forming the government. Independent candidates may also play a significant role in the outcome.
