‘I’m Sorry…’: VK Pandian Quits Active Politics After BJD Loses Odisha, Apologises To Party Workers

VK Pandian, a close aide of former Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik, announced his decision to leave active politics after the Biju Janata Dal’s defeat in the state Assembly elections. He apologized to BJD workers and leaders for any role his campaign may have played in the loss. Pandian expressed gratitude to the people of Odisha and Lord Jagannath, stating that his heart will always be with them. Naveen Patnaik defended Pandian, calling the criticism against him “unfortunate” and highlighting his contributions during crises like cyclones and the COVID-19 pandemic. Patnaik also clarified that Pandian was not his chosen successor.
