Changes have been made to the laddu complex in Tirupati after lab reports indicated beef fat and fish oil in the ghee used to make the famous Tirupati prasadam. The BJP has accused the previous YS Jagan Mohan Reddy-led government of defiling Hindu sentiments by allowing this adulteration. They are calling for those responsible to be incarcerated and are urging Hindus to unite against such acts in the name of ‘secularism’. The ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) displayed a lab report confirming the adulteration, sparking a political storm in Andhra Pradesh.
