The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its first list of 67 candidates for the upcoming Haryana legislative assembly elections. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini will contest from Ladwa, while former minister Anil Vij will contest from Ambala Cantt. Other notable candidates include Bhavya Bishnoi and Aarti Rao, daughter of Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh. The BJP has dropped nine MLAs, including a sitting minister, and has fielded candidates from various backgrounds, including former athletes. The Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) has also released its first list of candidates in alliance with the Azad Samaj Party. The Election Commission has revised the polling day for the Haryana Assembly polls to October 5, 2024.
