Amit Katyal, the main accused in the Land for Job ‘scam’, was recently granted bail by the Delhi High Court. The chargesheet filed by the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) states that his company, AK Infosystems Private Limited, was taken over by former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi and her son Tejashwi Yadav for just Rs 1 lakh, despite having assets worth Rs 63 crore. The ED claims that Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family acquired the company as part of a larger scheme to take land as bribes in exchange for railway jobs. Tejashwi Yadav is also under investigation for buying a bungalow in Delhi at a cheap price from a job applicant. The ED has filed two charge sheets naming several members of Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family in the case. The CBI alleges that Lalu Prasad Yadav orchestrated a significant scam during his tenure as Railway Minister, involving the transfer of land to his family members in exchange for railway jobs.
