‘Building Ground’: Nana Patole’s Reservation Remark Gives BJP Ammo Before Maharashtra Polls

With the Maharashtra assembly elections approaching, the BJP has accused the Congress of wanting to end reservation for SCs, STs, and OBCs, based on remarks made by Maharashtra Congress chief Nana Patole. Patole, however, clarified that he was expressing the views of BR Ambedkar and that the BJP was spreading a fake narrative. BJP leaders, including IT cell head Amit Malviya, have criticized the Congress for allegedly trying to remove reservation provisions from the Constitution. BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala also criticized the party, calling them ‘Dalit Virodhi’. The controversy over reservation has become a key issue in the run-up to the elections.
