BJP’s Final Push in Haryana: Portray Congress as ‘Divisive’ to 21% Dalits & ‘Pro-Dalit’ to 26% Jats

The BJP is aware of the challenges it faces in Haryana, with anti-incumbency, Jat anger, and disenchantment among voters. Despite this, the party is hopeful of putting up a strong fight by shaping the narrative and splitting votes. In the recent Lok Sabha election, there was a significant shift in Dalit political preferences, with the INDIA bloc gaining 68% of Dalit votes. The BJP is now using Congress’ push for a caste census against them in the Haryana election campaign. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has criticized Congress for promoting caste-based divisions, while emphasizing unity and development in his speeches. The BJP’s three-pronged approach involves criticizing Congress, promoting unity, and highlighting their own governance focused on development and transparency. With 47% of the electorate in play, the BJP hopes to leverage this strategy to their advantage in the upcoming election.
