Party leaders Sat Sharma, Kavinder Gupta, and Nirmal Singh have been given important posts ahead of the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections 2024 after being denied tickets. Sat Sharma has been appointed as the working president of the Jammu and Kashmir unit of the party, while Nirmal Singh will head the campaign committee and Kavinder Gupta will lead the Election management committee. The BJP faced protests when the first list of candidates was withdrawn and reissued, leading to upset among leaders like Nirmal Singh and Kavinder Gupta. However, the party seniors were able to calm the situation down through individual meetings. The assembly elections are set to take place in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1, with the counting of votes on October 8.
