Former Jharkhand chief minister and BJP leader Champai Soren received a warm welcome in Seraikela-Kharsawan district as he was nominated to contest from Seraikela in the upcoming elections. He has been winning in Seraikela since 1991 and will be up against his former party, JMM, and its coalition partner, Congress. The BJP is contesting 68 out of 81 assembly seats in the state, with the rest going to allies. The elections will take place in two phases on November 13 and 20, with counting on November 23. Soren expressed readiness to take on any responsibility given to him by the BJP after joining the party in August.
