The BJP recently held a core group meeting in Delhi, attended by Amit Shah, to discuss the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections. The party is focusing on all 288 seats in the state, not just the 164 they fought for in 2019. Discussions were held on key seats and seating arrangements for sitting MLAs. The party is likely to repeat many of its senior MLAs and ministers in the first list. Seat-sharing arrangements with allies in Mahayuti are also being finalized to ensure everyone is satisfied. The party is confident in its expertise to manage this. The central election committee meeting on October 16 will further discuss election strategies, including the possibility of fielding MPs who lost in the Lok Sabha elections in the assembly polls.
