The BJP has appointed Baijayant Jay Panda as the party’s in-charge for the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls, with Atul Garg as the co-incharge. Panda, a Lok Sabha MP from Odisha, brings his understanding of the party’s dynamics in the national capital to the role. The polls, expected to be held early next year, hold symbolic significance as the BJP aims to defeat Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal, who has been a strong critic of the saffron party. The BJP has not been in power in Delhi since 1998 and is making strong efforts to change that in the upcoming elections.
