Zeeshan Siddique, son of late Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, has joined the NCP and will be contesting the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections from the Bandra East seat against Shiv Sena candidate Varun Sirdesai. Zeeshan expressed gratitude to Ajit Pawar, Praful Patel, and Sunil Tatkare for their support. He took a dig at the Congress, referring to them as “old friends” after they announced their candidate for the same seat. The Maharashtra assembly elections are scheduled for November 20, with the main contest between the Mahayuti and Maha Vikas Aghadi alliances. The BJP, NCP, and Shiv Sena are part of Mahayuti, while the Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP (Sharad Pawar) are part of Maha Vikas Aghadi.
