Rahul Gandhi supported his sister’s nomination, stating that she would be the “official” MP from the seat. The by-poll was necessitated after Rahul resigned from Wayanad following his victory in two seats in the Lok Sabha Elections. Priyanka’s nomination was announced by the Congress on October 15.
