Another Thackeray Rises In Politics As MNS Chief Raj’s Son Amit Gets Ticket From Mahim

The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) has announced its first list of 45 candidates for the upcoming state assembly elections, including party chief Raj Thackeray’s son, Amit Thackeray, who will be contesting from Mahim constituency in central Mumbai. This move has energized the party’s base, but also comes with risks. Amit will be the third person from the Thackeray family to contest an election, following in the footsteps of his cousin, Aaditya Thackeray, who won from Worli in 2019. The MNS is going solo in the elections and is focused on fielding strong candidates in winnable constituencies. Meanwhile, talks between Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress for the MVA alliance have progressed positively, with a seat-sharing deal likely to be sealed soon.
