Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu accused the previous YSRCP government of using animal fat in the ghee used to make the famous Tirupati prasadam. The ruling Telugu Desam Party claimed that laboratory reports have detected adulterated oil containing “beef tallow” in the ghee. This controversy has been ongoing with questions raised about the quality of the prasadam distributed at the Tirumala temple. The Karnataka Milk Federation clarified that they only supplied ghee to the temple after the regime change and not during the previous government’s tenure. The TDP presented a lab report confirming the adulteration, but there has been no official confirmation from the state government or the temple board.
