After achieving success in the recent elections in Haryana, the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) is now turning its attention towards Maharashtra. The RSS workers held more than 16,000 small meetings on the ground in Haryana, which had a significant impact on the election results. Now, they are expected to hold around 75,000 such meetings in Maharashtra to support the BJP-led NDA government. These meetings involve conversations with locals about the importance of voting and nation-building. The RSS does not directly involve itself in electoral politics but tries to shape public opinion on various topics. Despite speculations about differences between the BJP and RSS, the RSS is backing the BJP’s alliance in Maharashtra. The upcoming elections in Maharashtra will see a tough competition between six major political parties.
