Jammu and Kashmir is gearing up for its largest phase of assembly elections, with 415 candidates vying for votes from over 39.18 lakh voters across 40 seats and 5,060 polling stations. This is the first election since the region became a union territory, and enforcement agencies have seized Rs 130 crore during the ongoing polls. The election office has taken action against officials violating guidelines, and over 39.18 lakh voters will participate in the final phase. Results will be announced on October 8. A report revealed that 169 crorepatis are contesting, with 67 candidates facing criminal cases.
