Yellow alert for seven districts on Thursday, swell surge warning across Kerala

Heavy rains are expected to continue in Kerala due to a weather system in the Bay of Bengal, with a yellow alert issued for eight districts. The IMD predicts the depression to cross the north Tamil Nadu – South Andhra Pradesh coasts and bring light showers in Kerala for the next five days. INCOIS issued a swell surge alert for the Kerala coast, warning fishermen to avoid small vessels and activities nearshore. It is advised to stay away from beaches and nearshore waters to prevent erosion.
