A yellow alert has been issued for seven districts in the State due to the possibility of isolated heavy rain. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has put Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad on alert. A low pressure area has formed over Lakshadweep and Arabian Sea, expected to intensify into a depression. Another cyclonic circulation over Sri Lanka may cause widespread rain in the State for the next five days. Residents in these districts should stay updated on the weather forecast and be prepared for possible heavy rainfall.
