Sitaram Yechury was praised for his efforts in resisting fascism and capitalism by K.T. Kunjikkannan at a recent workshop. Kunjikkannan highlighted the impact of religious fascism and capitalism in creating divisions and inequalities. Yechury’s dedication to fighting against these forces was seen as an inspiration. Former Minister for Education C. Raveendranath criticized the Union government’s educational reforms, particularly the new National Education Policy. He argued that the changes are regressive and serve specific interests, rather than promoting diverse knowledge. The government’s approach was deemed anti-federalist, and Kerala’s alternative policies were emphasized as more relevant. Additionally, a booklet on differently abled friendly policies in higher education institutions was released at the event.
