Wild elephant found dead on farmland in Kanthallur

A female wild elephant, around 10 years old, was found dead on a farmland in Idukki. The forest officer suspects the elephant died from a Herpes virus infection and the body was sent for post-mortem examination to confirm the cause of death. This elephant was believed to be the same one that had been creating panic in the village by attacking people in recent days.
