The Welfare Party of India, the political wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, has decided to support the UDF in the upcoming bypolls in Kerala. They are urging their followers to vote against the BJP and LDF in Wayanad, Palakkad, and Chelakkara. The party criticized the NDA and LDF governments for their policies and accused the CPM of creating a situation beneficial for the Sangh Parivar. WPI has allied with the IUML in local bodies and may ally with the UDF in the upcoming local body elections. They have been with the UDF since the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, having previously been part of the LDF.
