The Kerala High Court expressed concern that victims of the Wayanad landslides have not yet received compensation and directed the government to establish a system to distribute financial aid. This direction was given during a case initiated by the High Court itself after the landslides in Wayanad on July 30. The Central government mentioned that a committee was considering declaring the tragedy a national disaster, while the State government stated that the scheme providing ₹300 per day to disaster victims would be extended for another 30 days. The court will further address the matter on November 15.
