Water supply disruption in Thiruvananthapuram: Surendran flays govt., city Corporation

The State government and city Corporation have failed to address the water supply disruption in the State capital for five days, according to BJP State unit president K. Surendran. The pipeline realignment works were started without proper preparation, resulting in water supply being cut off for five lakh people in 53 wards. The Mayor’s inefficiency and failure to involve ward councillors in decision-making have been criticized. The Corporation allegedly sold water to large establishments outside the city instead of ensuring supply to residents. There has been no government or ministerial response to the crisis, prompting calls for protests against both the government and the Corporation for causing hardship to the people.
