Residents in Thiruvananthapuram are facing a water crisis for the sixth day in a row, with many areas still without water despite pumping efforts. Approximately 200 houses in Melarannoor and homes in high-altitude areas are among those affected. The city corporation has deployed additional water tankers to supply water, but residents feel it is not enough. The Kerala Water Authority has identified air blocks in the taps as the primary reason for the disruption and is working to fully restore water supply by Tuesday night. A probe has been launched to determine the cause of the prolonged water shortage, pointing to mismanagement during ongoing railway doubling works.
