VBC Kainakary wants expert panel to review results of Nehru boat race 

The Village Boat Club (VBC) Kainakary is disputing the results of the 70th edition of the Nehru Trophy Boat Race, claiming that their boat, Veeyapuram Chundan, crossed the finish line ahead of the winning boat, Karichal Chundan. They have requested the Nehru Trophy Boat Race Society (NTBRS) to appoint an expert panel to reexamine the results. The VBC alleges that the NTBRS officials favored the Pallathuruthy Boat Club (PBC) and ignored rule violations, such as the PBC’s use of wooden oars. The Kumarakom Town Boat Club (KTBC), which finished third, also filed a complaint alleging a flawed start in the final race. The VBC and KTBC are prepared to take legal action if their complaints are not addressed.
