Two years after the Supreme Court’s order for higher EPF pensions based on salary, less than 1% of applicants in Kerala have received their revised pensions. Nationally, only 2% have been granted higher pensions, with many facing delays due to staff shortages and outdated software. Pre-2014 retirees are facing even longer delays, with only a small fraction receiving their revised pensions. In Kerala, out of 11,084 pre-2014 retirees, only a small number have had their options approved. The slow progress in processing these pension applications is causing frustration among retirees who are eagerly awaiting their revised pensions.
