This Onam, Kudumbashree to double the number of fairs in Kerala’s Ernakulam

Kudumbashree Mission in Kerala has expanded its Onam fairs in Ernakulam district to help control the prices of essential commodities. They will host double the number of fairs compared to previous years, with a total of 205 fairs across rural and urban areas. The fairs will showcase products from Kudumbashree micro enterprises and Activity Groups, including their popular ‘sharkaravaratti’ and chips now branded as ‘Fresh Bites’. Additionally, Kudumbashree has ventured into flower farming, growing marigold across 40 acres to meet the demand during the Onam season. The fairs will run from Monday until Thiruvonam day, with hopes of surpassing last year’s revenue of ₹82 crore.
