Film preservation is crucial to ensure that old classics are not lost forever. Filmmaker Shivendra Singh Dungarpur started the Film Heritage Foundation to address the dire state of film preservation in India. The Foundation is now organizing a workshop in Thiruvananthapuram in partnership with FIAF to train individuals in the art of preservation. The workshop will cover various aspects of preservation, restoration, and digitization of films, with an international faculty leading the sessions. Participants will also have the opportunity to watch restored classics and receive a certificate from FIAF upon completion of the course. The aim is to create a network of archivists dedicated to preserving cultural and cinematic heritage.
