The redevelopment of the Thiruvananthapuram-Shoranur canal is progressing well and is expected to be completed by December. The project aims to convert the canal into a navigable waterway, with widening and dredging works currently underway. Despite some delays in certain sections due to residents living along the canal banks, efforts are being made to relocate them with proper compensation. Once completed, the waterway project in Thiruvananthapuram district will be finished. The state government and the Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board have allocated funds for the project, showing commitment to its success.
