To address this issue, rail passenger associations have requested Southern Railway to introduce a passenger train or Memu service from Thiruvananthapuram to Tirunelveli via Neyyattinkara, Parashala, and Nagercoil town. This will not only benefit commuters but also farmers who need to transport their produce. S R Sreeram of the Consumer Protection Association in Nagercoil believes that implementing this service will greatly help passengers traveling between these stations. The demand for this service is high between Thiruvananthapuram and Nagercoil compared to Thiruvananthapuram and Tirunelveli.
