There is a new disagreement between the governor and the state government in Thiruvananthapuram. The chief minister believes that the governor does not have the authority to summon officials without informing the government first. As a result, the chief secretary and the DGP did not attend a meeting called by the governor. The governor wanted to discuss comments made by the chief minister about Malappuram and allegations of phone tapping. The state government feels that the governor’s actions go against established procedures. The CM wrote a letter to the governor stating that such actions are not within his jurisdiction. The governor’s involvement was sparked by the CM’s remarks about funds from gold smuggling and hawala transactions in Malappuram.
