The Union government has given Kerala ₹3,430 crore as part of tax devolution. In total, the Centre has distributed ₹1,78,173 crore to State governments, including a regular instalment and an advance instalment. This money is meant to help states increase capital spending and fund development and welfare projects, especially during the festive season. Uttar Pradesh received the most at ₹31,962 crore, followed by Bihar at ₹17,921 crore.
