Syro-Malabar Church affirms solidarity with Munambam protesters

Father Antony Vadakkekara, spokesperson of the Syro-Malabar Church, expressed solidarity with the people of Munambam who are facing displacement over the Waqf property issue. He urged the State government to intervene urgently to prevent hundreds of families from being displaced from land they have owned and lived on for decades. He called on the government and political parties to be sensitive to their cause and work towards a peaceful resolution. The Kerala Council of Churches also supported the residents and called for amendments to Waqf rules to prevent misuse. It is important to avoid polarization on communal lines and find a fair solution to the issue.
