The government has taken action against SP Sujith Das after a leaked phone conversation with MLA P V Anvar. Das has been suspended pending a departmental inquiry for making derogatory comments about colleagues and breaching discipline. The suspension was ordered by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who removed Das from his post as SP. If Das’s explanation is unsatisfactory, charges can be framed and an inquiry will be conducted to determine any penalties. Das is also under investigation by a special team under the DGP.
