Standoff continues in archdiocese over ‘letter’ from Vatican

The Catholic Nasrani Association and Almaya Shabdam have supported a directive from the Vatican to take action against priests in the Ernakulam-Angamaly archdiocese who are not following the unified Mass pattern. They believe that those who do not adhere to the unified Mass should face consequences according to Canon Law. However, a spokesperson for the rebel group in the archdiocese claims that the Vatican’s letter was in response to a complaint from over 400 priests seeking to cancel a circular issued by the Major Archbishop. Sources in the Church confirm the authenticity of the Vatican’s letter and state that priests who do not comply with the mandate may face expulsion from the Church and further disciplinary actions.
