Seven individuals have been arrested for their suspected involvement in a sandalwood smuggling operation in Kannur. The arrests were made as part of a crackdown on illegal sandalwood trade in the region. The authorities seized 2.5 kg of sandalwood and an autorickshaw used in the smuggling. The operation was a result of information obtained from previous raids and interrogations. The team involved in the arrests included senior forest officers and beat forest officers. The search is ongoing for another individual believed to be a key member of the smuggling group.
