The Congress party in Thiruvananthapuram has accused the chief minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan, of being influenced by the RSS within the Left Democratic Front (LDF) coalition. They claim that Vijayan is protecting a senior police officer, despite demands for action from LDF allies, out of fear of upsetting the RSS. Opposition leader VD Satheesan and KPCC president K Sudhakaran MP have criticized the chief minister for prioritizing the interests of the RSS over those of the LDF partners. They have also raised concerns about the diminishing influence of other LDF members and the perceived saffronization of the CPM and LDF under Vijayan’s leadership.
