In an effort to improve road safety and reduce the high number of annual road accidents in Kerala, the Motor Vehicles department has made road safety classes mandatory for all driving licence applicants under the Ernakulam Regional Transport Office. This initiative, which was previously delayed due to the pandemic, aims to create a new driving culture and ensure that all drivers are aware of the latest road safety guidelines. The classes will cover advancements in automobiles, road construction, and recent amendments to the Motor Vehicles Act. Attendees will need to bring their driving licence, identity proof, and a registered mobile phone to participate in the sessions.
