Leader of the Opposition V.D. Satheesan is urging the State Government to restore spot booking for devotees visiting Sabarimala temple. He is protesting the decision to limit the number of pilgrims allowed for darshan to 80,000 per day, citing that in previous years, at least 15,000 pilgrims were allowed through spot booking. Satheesan also highlighted the challenges faced by pilgrims, especially those who are not computer-literate, in reserving their darshan through the online system. He warned that preventing pilgrims from getting darshan could lead to law and order issues and urged the government to improve facilities to accommodate the large number of pilgrims expected during the mandala season.
