Rent to be paid for landlslide-hit families in Chooralmala before Onam, says Minister

Revenue Minister K. Rajan announced that rent payments for families affected by landslides in Chooralmala will be given before Onam. Financial aid has been provided for funeral rites and emergency assistance granted to families. A micro survey has been conducted for 1,009 families in disaster-affected areas. Revenue recovery proceedings in Vythiri taluk have been suspended, and discussions with bank officials are ongoing regarding loan waivers. Plans for resettlement of families who lost their homes are in progress, with suitable land being identified. The Minister praised organizations and officials involved in relief and rescue efforts at Chooralmala.
