Starting on Tuesday, work will begin to connect new water pipelines to old ones at Vengeri Junction. This will result in the suspension of water supply to 13 grama panchayats and the Kozhikode Corporation for at least five days. The relocation of the Kerala Water Authority pipelines is necessary due to the development of National Highway 66 at Vengeri Junction. The National Highways Authority of India has prepared a project to relocate the pipelines, with alternative lines already laid. Water pumping from the Peruvannamuzhi reservoir has been suspended, and the new pipelines will be connected to the old ones at various points. The work is expected to be completed in five days.
