Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan campaigned in Chelakkara and targeted Nilambur MLA P V Anvar, who is supporting a Congress rebel in the election. Anvar has been causing trouble by making irresponsible statements and creating scenes in hospitals. The CM criticized Anvar for promising to build houses for the homeless and accused him of trying to provoke people. LDF supporters are hopeful but wary of anti-government sentiments affecting their chances. Vijayan also criticized the IUML for having ties with the Jamaat-e-Islami and emphasized the importance of democracy over other ideologies. The constituency of Chelakkara has a significant Muslim population, and the LDF is concerned about losing their votes to the Congress.
