Forest Minister A.K. Saseendran has confirmed that the animal causing panic in Chathirur is a leopard, not a tiger as previously suspected. Efforts are underway to capture the leopard with three teams conducting night inspections. The Minister also addressed the water issue faced by families in the area and announced the installation of a temporary water tank. Cameras have been installed to monitor wildlife presence and additional lighting will be provided. The construction of an elephant wall is almost complete.
