Power supply hit following UG cable mishap

Several hundred consumers in the Pettah electrical section experienced a power outage on Monday due to an underground power cable being accidentally sliced during work on a gas pipeline project. The incident occurred while a trench was being dug with an excavator, causing the power cable to be cut. As a result, three transformers serving the region were affected, leaving consumers without electricity for several hours. The Kerala State Electricity Board quickly made alternative arrangements for power supply to the affected areas, but repairs on the damaged cable are expected to be completed by Tuesday.
