Politics is the effective way to do something for the country, says Shashi Tharoor

In a session at an art and literature festival, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor questioned the role of morals and ideologies in politics if it’s all about power. He emphasized the importance of using politics to serve society and having a vision for the betterment of society. Tharoor also discussed controversies surrounding his remarks and his views on Ambedkar’s arguments. He acknowledged the harsh reality of the caste system in India and warned about the potential consequences of the impending delimitation of Lok Sabha constituencies. Tharoor urged south Indian States to stay united to prevent policies favoring the more populous north Indian States.
